Boards
Your data lives in boards — with custom fields, records, and views.
What is a board?
A board is a structured data table. It's where your actual data lives. Each board has:
•Fields (columns) — Define the structure of your data
•Records (rows) — Individual data entries
•Views — Different ways to see the same data (Grid, Kanban, Calendar)
•Forms — Public intake forms that create records
•Automations — Rules that trigger actions automatically
Creating a board
Create boards from the sidebar (right-click a base → New Board) or from the base page. SAJEL gives you default fields to start with:
•A Title field (text)
•A Status field (select)
•A Created field (date)
•A Notes field (long text)
You can rename, reorder, or delete these defaults and add your own fields.
Board views
Views let you see the same data in different ways without duplicating it:
•Grid view — Traditional spreadsheet-style table. Best for data entry and bulk editing.
•Kanban view — Cards organized by status or category. Best for workflow tracking.
•Calendar view — Records plotted on a calendar by date field. Best for scheduling.
Each view can have its own filters, sorts, and field visibility settings.
Synced board copies
A synced board copy is a read-only mirror of another board, potentially from a different base or workspace.
This is useful for:
•Cross-department data sharing without granting full access
•Creating link fields to boards in other bases
•Building centralized dashboards from distributed data
Synced copies are read-only. Changes must be made in the source board and will sync automatically.
